The bubble in my Omega has blown- it was a 200watt 24v bubble, it was replaced with SAME and all points checked ok, the lamp wont power up-m the multimeter checks fine thru all stages- pins , leads etc and even installed a new silicon cable and lamp holder- lamp still wont fire up,

After a site search, many sites recommend a 250watt -

Has anyone a definitive answer to this one?

I think the correct bulb is ELC (http://www.bulbconnection.com/ViewItem/bcrw/itmid/139/oc/ELC/item.html), which is 250watt 24v halogen.

Just yesterday I was cleaning the severely oxidized contacts of the bulb sockets on 3 Omega heads. Perhaps that may be your problem also.

ELC is a very common bulb. As far as quality and longevity are concerned, I have had better luck with Ushio than with GE or Phillips.
