I am about to sell my HP B9180 for the Epson 3800 and see that the max print size is 17x22. Is it possible to cut roll paper and use a RIP to print longer? I want to make some 16x30 prints.

Thanks

You can go to 34" without any special RIP.

You can buy 17x25" paper, btw.

Thanks Greg. Can I go longer with a RIP or is there a max?

I never heard of a any RIP that would take it longer. I personnaly use Qimage and it takes it to 34" could be 37", I don't have the machine in front of me now so I can't check to see for sure. If Qimage can't go longer I doubt that anyone else will. Epson actually puts the limit in the machine for whatever reason. But I could be wrong since I do all of my banner type work on either my 4800 or 9600 (Qimage goes to about 100 feet on these) anyway and never needed the 3800 for anything larger than 25".

Sure they can. Color Burst and QTR just to name 2.

Since Qimage prints through the print driver it is limited to 37 inches.

This is interesting news. I just Googled the question and found out that Image Print will take a 3800 to 327 inches!
