Have considered a variable contrast cold light head? If so, I highly recomend the Artisto VCL4500.

My understanding is that the VC cold light head used on the Zone VI enlargers (which I have in the 8X10 size and am very pleased with)is in fact produced by Aristo. I believe the same is true for all the Zone VI cold light heads. That doesn't necessarily answer your question as to whether it is the same as what they market under their own name.

Your question is a little ambiguous.

Are you looking for a VC head with blue & green grids, or a single grid suitable for use with VC filters.

Usually the "high intensity" lights are blue only, not suitable for use with VC papers.

To my knowledge the W54 lamp is not available from Zone VI, only from Aristo directly. But I suggest you contact Calumet (owners of the Zone VI name) and discuss with their sales staff. Since they sell both, they could identify which product best suits your needs.

I just spoke to Aristo about the Zone VI 8x10 head, and was informed in polite but clear language that this head was NOT made by Aristo. If it were, I could replace the lamp in my 8x10 Zone VI head with their for the VC lamp that they sell. Aristo seemed to think that the head is made by a sign company.
