Hello - I'm new to this forum and I am thinking about buying a used Epson Stylus PRO 10000. Does anyone have any opinions on this model? I'll be using it for prints sizes ranging from 16x20 up to 30x40. Anybody know the overall quaility, ink usage, cost per inch, ect.? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had one of these. The 10000 supposedly didn't handle K3 inks. The 10600 did. Of course, it was all baloney. All you had to do was cut the tabs off the cartridges and you were fine.

I was generally satisfied with the quality and speed, but changing out a head was an expensive enterprise. I moved over to Roland FJ540's (I have two) and have been very satisfied. They are 10 times the machines that the Epson's are in terms of using them long term, maintaining and fixing them.

If you expect to use the printer for a year or two, or for personal use, then you are fine with a 10000. Otherwise, get a Roland.
