There is a Dutch landscape photographer named Wim van Velzen who recently made the transition from medium format to digital. There is a detailed essay on his web site about why and how he made the transition. Note that he shoots 6x6 but also does stitched panoramas and triptychs. I mention him because I think that what he says is of interest to large format photographers. I was also reminded, as I read his piece, of Chris Jordan's decision to leave 8x10 for digital.

Van Velzen's website is at http://www.fotografiewimvanvelzen.nl/home.htm and the piece on the transition is at http://www.fotografiewimvanvelzen.nl/technique-landscape.htm

There are also a number of other interesting articles on his site.

The site is in both Dutch and English.

Aender, it's there now. I hit a wrong key and accidentally posted this before I was finished writing. Hence the thread title is also a bit messed up, should be Vim van Velzen: Transition from Film to Digital.

Interesting article. He makes it sound easier to use in the field than I have heard before this article. Using the imagebank instead of CF cards adds a bit of insight into an older system. 22 MP is what some dSLRs are capable of putting out these days.

Thanks for posting.
