I just found a Volute shutter for my 13" Emil Bush Omnar--only problem is It won't fire!!! Does anyone know someone who fixes shutters other then the obvious big name guys. I'm just a dumb & broke sheetmetal worker who fell in love with large format. So what i'm asking is, someone who does a good job, and is Cheap
Thanks John

Carol Miller does a nice job, and I think her prices are reasonable. I don't have any personal experience with anyone else.

I've got a BETAX shutter in with Carol Flutot right now. It's about a 1 month wait. Contact her and she will put you on a wait list and email you when you need to send it.
Camtech in Hamilton Ontario Canada will fix it. Great exchange rates on the US Dollar now.

I just dropped off 2 Anastigmat Skopars (135mm) at Camtech Hamilton, for cleaning and shutter CLA, as well as a 88/6.8 BL wide angle whose glass really needed an internal clean. I'll report back when they are returned.

Okay, got all three lenses back today and was very impressed as much by the speed as the quality of the work. Working with a filthy lens and a jammed shutter from approx. 1930, he managed to make them look and sound like new. Heartily recommended for older LF lenses at least.
