I have tried to find out what this is about, but info is really all over the place.

Is this a conference that happens every year in Colorado? Does it change to Foto 4 for 2009? I can't find any new information. Would love to go if it is going on this year.

Can anybody enlighten me about this organization?

Thanks!

Foto 3 was a one shot wonder that came with a long storied history of self imposed problems. The details are really not that important to the bigger picture so if you are really interested in old news you can do a search, buckle your seat belt and go for it. I would personally not waste my time on it. It was a horror story that you could not make up. However, all that really matters is that t will not ever happen again. End of story.

I've read some and was hoping for it again since it was only a couple hours from me.

Just was wondering if was something that happened every year. But sounds like it isn't:(

I think Michael summarized it well. It took place, but won't be repeated.

And, for a variety of reasons, we don't want to revisit the history of the event.

It should be mentioned, though, that the people who attended, myself included, enjoyed the event very much. Great panel discussions, speakers, portfolio reviews, and a wonderful keynote address by John Sexton.

Foto 3 was initially planed as a joint conference between 3 organizations, hence it's name. It replaced the annual View Camera Conference, organized by View Camera Magazine. However, eventually, the conference was ran entirely by View Camera Magazine. The View Camera Conference location changes every year. It is planned in New Mexico for 2009.

Thanks Mark.

It did look like a great conference. I'm on the lookout for some more. Right now I attend three portrait photography conferences a year because I'm on the board and help put these on, so I know how much work they are. Just would like to attend some gear towards LF.

The View Camera conference is sponsored by View Camera magazine. You should contact them for more info.

I am sure an announcement will be made here, but in the while, check the View Camera site at www.viewcamera.com. Apparently it will be another joint conference and will be July 24 - Aug. 1. I found the only View Camera conference that I've attended to be a worthwhile event.

www.hybridphoto.com has a link on the home page under Hybrid News: "-Foto3 Conference Announced"

It looks like they have the most up-to-date info there...
