Hey,
Full of '1st time' questions. So I'm getting ready to use the Kodak E6 kit in my CPP2 with my 3005 tank, I'd like to process just one 8x10 sheet as a test case to make sure I got everything working correctly. Problem is how do I measure out chemicals for this situation?

The kodak instructions give good directions on how to mix only part of the kit into smaller batches (250,350,500 etc) but:
a)What is the minimum amount of chemicals I need to develop 1 8x10 sheet
b)My jobo manual says the minimum amt of fluid to use in the 3005 is 650mL but thats WAY too much chemicals for one 8x10 sheet.

I've read elsewhere somebody saying 250mL was plenty to develop 20 4x5 sheets, by that math say 100mL should be fine for one 8x10 sheet, can I mix up chemicals for 100mL then dilute that to 700mL to run in my 3005?

Thanks,
Sam

Ya but that's what your tank needs.

Is that kit one shot?

Yes,
These chemicals are one shot. And I understand that the 650mL is what my tank requires and it just means that thats the minimum amt of fluid I need to have in there which is why I'm wondering if I can just take 100mL of solution and dilute it to 700mL for the tank.

Ok, so there are two main issues that need to be handled:
- minimum liquid in the drum to cover the material being processed
- minimum chemistry needed to process the material
They are not the same thing.

So for a 3010 drum the minimum liquid to cover is 210ml. The minimum E6 chemistry for 10 4x5 sheets is 330ml (to prevent exhaustion minimum E-6 is 33ml for each 4x5 and 126ml for each 8x10 sheet)

The tank minimum for the 3005 is 270ml. The minimum E-6 is 126ml but that won't cover the sheet in this drum so 270ml it is. You only need the 630ml if doing 5 sheets.

Does that answer it?

I'll give ya the short answer: No.

Thats the data I was looking for! Oh and you're right, its 270mL, I was looking at the wrong row on the table (for 5 sheets).

Thanks,
