Play in Copal 1 Shutter

I just received a used lens from a dealer mounted in a Copal 1 shutter. When I grasp the front cell, there appears to be play in the shutter, with the front cell and speed ring moving slightly with respect to the rest of the shutter. There is a feeling of looseness. None of my other Copal 1 shutters exhibits this behavior.

Do I send it back?

Depends on how little you paid. If you paid near a fair price, send it back.

You can send it back, or you can ask the seller if he/she is willing to pay for the repair.

Either way, the shutter is broken and needs to be repaired by a skilled technician.
