Actually I have two of these, one focuses closer than the other. Both look excellent on the ground glass. I've finished a roll of Eastman 5222 XX 120, in a 6.5x9cm Makina Film Back. To focus you set the camera focus to infinity, then rangefinder focus and note the distance. Then set the body back to infinity, and then rotate the helical on the lens to whatever distance you noted. I've been doing this and it's very accurate and precise, I'm planning to shoot more tests. So far I have shot with the lens on the right, with #1 Yellow Makina FIlter and Makina Lens Hood. Easy and user friendly process, I think i like using this, lots of uses for telephoto photography. The viewfinder glass it gridded out to use the 19cm and very price as a way to frame. I'm having fun discovering this lens. Next I'm trying Kentmere 400 and Foma 200 pushed as far as possible. New addition is Foma Retropan 320 Soft developed in the Retropan developer.

Never really was a fan for fish-eye shots, but these are spectacular. I love it!

Often with big open sky I burn the top and dodge the foreground to get a good balance. This lens has filters in a rotating mount but after lots of use all the filters are falling out and jam when I rotate them, so I haven't used the filters in a while. I need to get the lens professionally cleaned and those filters re-glued...and convert it to AI while I'm at it. Most of these lenses are on collector shelves I think :).

One time I field stripped the lens to un-jam the filters which were stuck half in the frame.

I've been wanting to try seeing Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS passing by, but the recent hurricane made it impossible. Today the weather seemed favorable and so we went out to give it a shot. While not exactly the brightest thing in the sky, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to see the comet just by the naked eye. I shot some images, my favorite with a Nikkor 135mm f/2 DC. For this one I took about 80 2.5 second images and stacked them in DeepSkyStacker.

It was kind of getting closer so I figured I would scare it away by tossing a small rock into the brush. Well, I must've clocked him on the head because he made some very angry sounds and dashed right through the brush, screeched at us, and then ran through the kudzu and down the cliff next to us! Oops...

Skier Box 6x9cm full power Sony Nex C3 50mm Zeiss Touit F16. Camera carefully moved forward and back to achieve best focus wide open, and composition at F2.8.

Many years ago, I had Steve at SK Grimes make me an 86mm Adapter Ring, to put my Hasselblad Compendium Shade, onto my 180mm F2.8 Zebra CZJ Zeiss Sonnar. Here I have found it, it's now on my new version 180mm, to fit my Plaubel Makiflexes. Very efficient lens hood, glad I kept it and can now use it with my new short mount version 180 Sonnar. Also from SK Grimes, you can see my 4x5 Graflex Sheet Film Holder (of their own design) for Plaubel Makiflexes.

Makes 9x9cm high resolution negs on 9x12cm and 4x5 planfilms and glass plates.

This is from my wanderings in the MacDonald Forest yesterday, in north Corvallis. I received a Horizon S3 Pro swing lens camera for Christmas, so it had to get right to work. This frame is from the roll of Adox CHS 100 II I used, developed in XT-3. Yes, I used a tripod - I was using the 1 full second exposure setting. I also used a roll of Ilford Delta 100, which gave me images that had a very different curve to the tones (CHS 100 II has a more abrupt toe and the impression of greater acutance, whereas the Delta 400 gave softer values and more usable shadow information).
