The SEEK app says maybe, 'The ringless honey mushroom: Armillaria tabescens'

They are growing in a tree stump depression in my lawn

http://foragedfoodie.blogspot.com/2016/11/the-ringless-honey-mushroom-armillaria.html

I buy a local mushroom weekly, preferring the tiny 'Chestnut mushrooms' https://www.cooksinfo.com/chestnut-mushrooms

I am absolutely not eating what is growing in my lawn and tomorrow I mow it under.

I once ate one live mason jar mushroom, knowing it's purpose

Wonderful

oh hell yea. i'd never eat a wild mushroom unless I had an "expert" telling I wouldn't die. lol. Which means, they'd have to eat it first. I have wondered if that app would identify psilocybin correctly ;-)
That app is loads of fun. There are some species of trees I didn't know grew in my area because I thought they were something else!

Thanks.
I sent the camera to a Leica repair facility to have the rangefinder recalibrated because focus was off. They asked if I wanted a new sensor. I agreed and they installed a new one. The old sensor had some corrosion issue, I guess, and its surface was not flat. It had what looked like little prisms on it to correct something. The new sensor does not and you can easily clean it now.

Last night was the first clear night in weeks, so I had to setup my scope and try to shoot Andromeda again. I am getting better at aligning everything, though I think either the mount needs a bit of adjustment or the weight distribution is simply not balanced and causing it to not track cleanly sometimes. Despite this, I got a decent image of our nearest major galaxy. I think this was about 5 minutes of 15" exposures stacked, at an ISO of 1000, with my Nikon D800E and Sigma 300mm f/2.8:

https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZFRSNc5veBU/X2igCu_fK0I/AAAAAAAANB0/MWDYPSFtIwwR9PbSAmJccXvW8klxwrlNgCLcBGAsYHQ/s900/andromeda920201l.jpg

Thanks. Putting the folding hood on your Pentax 6x7 in lieu of the prism will help reduce the weight some.

If this is how these are being interpreted, then I've hit the bullseye! It is my goal to craft these images (Its been a summer-long set in the making) to convey a dark fascination: beautiful yet somehow sinister, threatening. In a sense, these are a metaphor for our current global situation.

I was going to get a drone once. But there is really no place to fly it where I live. About every piece of public land, countless little airports and pretty much all costal waters have restrictions. How is it in Maine? I look on a restrictions map of Maine and I see a big circle around Owls Head area.

Install the DJI FLY app and see how your area is regulated, even if you don't have a drone yet.

The red X inside the blue circle is the no-fly zone. Locked down by DJI. The blue circle I can fly once authorized within the app, which means sometime 2FA and always several disclaimer checkboxes. Living in the area and being a customer of the flying services, I know where planes fly and don't fly and the sounds of certain ones that take certain approaches. (we have the third busiest airport in the state because of small planes going to the islands around us, but it's still a small town)
The extended legs of the cross going into other towns has some altitude restrictions which are not a problem. I can fly along the coast about anywhere except the red X over the airport and national parks. It's generally calm winds in the morning which is great for drone flying; it's even great in 15mph winds, but not much more than that.

I can't wait to photograph the woods and shore by drone after a fresh snowfall, because woods, rocks, and snow are my favorite combination to photograph.

I can only reproduce the problem using Chrome on Windows 10.

Windows+Chrome users might need to research the issue, which I presume is either a security setting or a bug related to one.

Using that combination, I have no problem seeing images on www.kennethmorrislee.com so there may something which breaks when the forum tries to fetch the image from my ISP.

I could see the image in the forum using the 'brave' browser. So, I copied the image address, and pasted it into the chrome browser. The image came up without any problems. So, it is a chrome browser interaction issue, with the forum problem.

Since Chrome and Windows 10 are updated frequently, my guess would be that the combination implements newer and more stringent security controls than the forum software (which is probably updated only periodically).

.

Chrome on OSX too. If you view Chrome's error log, you'll see there is a Get < your website> net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID error being generated. Looks like something to do with finding a certificate on your site or a bug in Chrome's code. To view the error log, open a Chrome Console Tab ( Press Command+Option+J [Mac] or Control+Shift+J [Windows]) while at the page with your Lake8.jpg post.

Safari on OSX often will not show an image too if the hosting site signed their own HTTPS certificate (default paranoid security setting). But in your case it looks like you're not using any encryption. Chrome will show the Lake8.jpg image if I go to your site.

Thanks for that !

Using Chrome on MacOS, I noticed that my images don't appear on another forum either, and the browser generates the same error message in the console log.

I will pass this along to my ISP and see if they are aware of a certificate problem.

I really like Neopan 400 120. I am down to my last twenty rolls in the freezer.

I have had certificates applied to my web sites. Using the Chrome browser, my linked images now appear here and elsewhere.

Thanks for the help, fellers !!
