Interesting places to photograph in/around/close to/ Reno?

I will be in Reno for a week plus during Christmas and I am looking for challenging subjects of any kind for the 4x5 Wisner. Also looking for hiking ideas (moderate, folks, we're in our 60s).

Pyramid Lake

Lake Tahoe if the weather is not too bad. Pyramid Lake is very interesting (get a permit from the tribal office, and to find out road conditions.) Quite a few parks along the Truckee River in Reno -- might be worth checking out.

Aye, Lake Tahoe!

Squaw Valley in the North and Heavanly in the South have gondola rides that will take pedestrians and their 4x5 kits to the top for incredible views, especially if the weather is good.
Truckee, Genoa and Virginia City are all picturesque, as is the Truckee River is it winds it's way from Tahoe City to Reno.
