Any of you know of store(s) specialising and rare or hard to find photo-related books and magazines? There's probably one in NYC, I would imagine. I have a number of older items I'd like to have appraised or placed on consignement in such a place.

Thanks

HI I'm in the UK and use http://used.addall.com/ for secondhand photographic and other books. It is a search engine that looks through many booksellers catalogs. They also have a site to search for new books. Be sure to look through all the results as prices can vary enormously.

If you can't find it on abebooks.com, you may have a hard time. It's comprised of lot of little booksellers from all over. Sad that they got bought by Amazon.....

I (and many other people who have attended the Maine Photographic Workshops) buy all my photographic books from Tim Whelan Photographic Books and Prints, of Rockport, Maine. 207-236-4795. Tim is honest, knowledgeable, pleasant, and reliable. During the winter months, his store is open on a limited basis; so you may need to leave a detailed message on his phone.

Ouch! I wasn't aware of that. They are the best place to find out of print books. I hope that doesn't change...

For general searches of used (and new) books I use http://www.bookfinder.com. They search through all major booksellers (amazon, bn, alibris, etc) and many smaller ones too.

I had good luck with www.camerabooks.com. They are very helpful and shipping is very fast.
