A friend of mine was curious as to whether the jobo 3063 would the answer to any potential 11x14 film developing issues (uneven development). If any of you have had any experience with processing your 11x14 film in the jobo 3063 or (3062?) please let me know. Thanks in advance for your knowledge. Hope all is well.

I use the 3063 for 7x17 film. Check this link for info on the insert I made:

I use either a 3062 or a 3063 to develop two sheets of 11x14 at a time, just wedged in between the ribs - no insert.

I've had no problems with uneven development, but I'm using D-76 and developing for silver printing. If you search other threads for the 3062 and 3063 you'll find that people who use pyro developers have reported problems with uneven development.

To follow up on what Oren said, if you use a staining developer in either the 3062 or 3063 drums without an insert of some sort, you will almost certainly have problems at some point. Even if the negatives appear to have no problems to the naked eye, you might find when you print them that they do - I've had 12x20 negs processed in a 3063 drum which showed no problems until I tried to print them with a UV process and discovered uneven banding which was basically invisible to normal light, but visible to UV light.... There's a lot of information out there on using those drums for developing ULF film...

I use the 2840 print drum with pyro HD and the development is even. It can only accomodate 1 sheet at a time however, but it works fine imo.

Keith, I also was thinking about that insert material for processing. Any idea what it is made of? What kind of plastic - polyethylene, PVC, Polypropylene, etc.? Anybody else use this stuff?
