I have been using Kami fluid for flat bed scanning but would like to try wet mounting 35mm in my Nikon V. I'm not enthused about using the volitile Kami in the Nikon. Has anyone tried the less aromatic Lumina which is made in Canada?

Steve,

Another option would be the Prazio line of fluids. While i only use Kami, I have had a few jobs that required the Prazio products. They are high quality and low odor.
I think they are also less volatile than Kami. I would add them to your list of things to try.

I've heard of the Prazio and that they were easier on plex drums.

It depends on the drum condition, whats its made of and how it was made.
They all effect how Kami will react. I have had no trouble at all with Kami and my Howtek 7500 drums.

The Prazio oil IIRC uses a very mild solvent? and Kami is a much more aggressive one.
Kami is solvent Naptha and not something you want to drink!

I have only used the Prazio gel's and drum cleaner. The gel's are fantastic for damaged film and really grainy negs. But a PIA to clean off the film and a bigger PIA to clean off the drum.
The drum cleaner is great for cleaning the inside of a drum. It leaves the drum streak free and it smells nice too.
