View Full Version : Shen Hao 8x10 light leak?

I'm hoping someone can cast some light (pun intended) on my leak.

In the image below you can see some fogging on either side of the transparency. I am wondering if this is due to an improper fit between the holder and the camera back, or whether it is likely the film holder itself?

If it is the fit, does anyone know how to achieve a more perfect seal, presuming something has warped etc?

Many thanks for any input.

This looks similiar to a problem discussed here:

I haven't used an 8x10 shen hao, but if the inside edge of the camera back is not beveled you might be having a flare problem. Flocking definitely helped me with my 4x5.

Excellent, Will. Thanks so much.

My Shen Hao does seem to have the same potential problem with shiny sides to the interior of the opening in the back. I'll do a test to confirm this is the problem.
