Mixing inks on Gold Silk

I have recently found that I like the combination of MIS Eboni when used in combination with the replacement MIS yellow replacement carbon black in the yellow slot position on Ilford Gold Silk paper. The Eboni provides a texture to the surface of a print in an image that has dispersed shadow areas. Also found that split toning using QTR on this same paper is really nice.

This is what I have found that I like. I use I use these profiles with Gold Silk...E Velvet Fine Art Neut, E Velvet Fine Art Cool, and E Velvet Fine Art Warm...top to bottom in QTR...The split toning is set as follows...again beginning with top (neut) HL 31, MT 18, Sd 20 for top slot, Center profile (cool) is HL 30, MT 50, Sd 0, Bottom profile (warm) HL 30, Mt 32, Sd 80

Ink limit 16 Gamma minus 10

This is with the MIS carbon black in the yellow slot. (no yellow used since I am using the printer for black and white only...Epson R2400)

Using Eboni ink on Gold silk gives a delightful texture by imparting a matt surface in shadows on prints that have dispersed deep small shadow regions.

This setup gives a cool midtone, a neutral highlight, and a warm shadow...

My scanner is not great...it is just a common office flatbed so the image I will post is not nearly what the print is...but it may give you an idea. Hope this helps.
