Hello,

Is it possible to use a Schneider 90mm f8 Super-Angulon on a 4x5 Crown Graphic? Is there any modification needed?

Thanks,
Martin

When you want to know older Schneider lenses' dimensions, go here: http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/archiv/archiv.htm

Short answer, there's no reason why not. The rear cell will pass through the front standard's lens throat and the lens' flange-to-film distance is longer than the 4x5 Crown's minimum flange-to-film distance.

No modification to camera or lens needed, but I think you'll have to drop the bed when shooting to keep it out of the picture.

hi martin

i have a chrome barrel super angulon ..
and use it on a speed graphic, and have used it on a crown graphic as well.
no modifications, nothing but a flat lensboard is needed.
and as dan suggested, drop the bed of your camera ...
not sure about the crown, but on my speed i have used a 65mm and 58mm lens without
any thing but a lensboard ...
here's another schneider link (http://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/CatalogSubCategoryDisplay.aspx?CID=162)

No problem whatsoever using a 90mm super Angulon f8 on Crown Graphic. If you want, you can even use the 65mm super Angulon f8, but you will have to drop the bed.

I have the Ilex "clone" of that lens, 90mm F8, and it works just fine on my Crown Graphic.
