Hello.

They have offered me a second hand Shen Hao of 8x10 for approximately 1000 Euros.

I would like to know experiences from someone that have worked with this camera. If someone has had it and can compare it with the Chamonix or the Tachihara one would be grateful for it.

Is it designed and built well ?

I have the 4 x 10 version it is a beautiful piece of equipmnet, Mine was new but the build is excelent. 1000 euros well it needs to be almost new as the price in Shanghai is not much more, have a holiday, take an interperter & haggle like mad.

Or email the factory and order one. If you order from the factory you can order the added pieces for good prices. Cheaper then the dealers.

I just bought a new one and have to say I'm very impressed. I haven't used it much yet but no reason to believe there will be any issues. Very well designed and build quality is first rate. Can't compare it with the others you mentioned however as I have not used those.
