Hi everyone,
I'm headed down to Savannah, Georgia, soon and want to do some LF photo down there. The last thing I want to do is hand carry exposed sheet film through the airport. Is there a place in town that will develop 8x10 film? Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Bill.

Bill,

First what kind of film?

I'm not aware of any pro labs in Savannah (I'm in Atlanta). You may wish to contact SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) to see if they can direct you to a pro lab. I think you might have to go to Jacksonville Fl. or Atlanta to find a pro lab that can processes any 8x10 film.

Best of luck,

It's been mentioned on this board long ago that in the same situation, a person could just ship the unexposed film back to their home address by UPS or FedEx

Fedex ground is a 2 day service to DC from Savannah - cool white trucks... and cheap. Drop it off at a Fedex Kinkos on W Broughton - open 7 days a weeks.

I used the E Six in Atlanta to get my 5x7 processed, but 4x5 & 8x10 processing seem to find than 5x7 for some reason. Then have them ship it to your home (base).

The Savannah College of Art and Design is the largest Art college in the world, and a first rate school. They offer photography as a major. There are facilities for film development. Inquire at the SCAD bookstore. Its located on MLK Street, on the western edge of the historic district. If memory serves, there is a photo supply/lab close by.

PhotoScad on MLK does a fine job but they don't handle 8x10 film. Only up to 4x5 and only neg film at that unfortunately...

The only place in Jacksonville still able to do 8x10 only develops once a week and uses only T-max developer. I think I'd ship my negatives as others have suggested.
