WITHOUT getting into their substance, what would you say are the PHOTOGRAPHY-RELATED issues that are likely to create the biggest controversies on this site?

#1: Must be "is film dead" question.
#2: ?

What constitutes pornographic images?

Why are so many talented photographers shooting photos of trees and rocks when the World burns around them? (who originally said that?)

Is photography art?

Should the Lounge be shut down?

(Hey, you said list them, NOT believe in or defend them...)

1) film vs. digital
2) 4X5 vs. 8X10 vs. ULF
3) cheap, old uncoated barrel lenses vs. Rodenschneider APO-SSSXL wonder optics
4) color vs. black and white
5) photographers' rights are in danger!
6) hack Velvia western landscape photographers who make a fortune on the hype and artist statements behind their images
7) up to relatively recently, the latest controversies on certain camera makers and magazine publishers who shall remain nameless (glad to see that's done for now!)
8) look out- film is being discontinued!
9) the large format camera du jour (again, shall remain nameless) that everyone needs!

That pretty much sums up most of what goes on in this forum- am I missing anything?

Getting hassled by some overzealous rent-a-cop for "security reasons"

Such and such discontinued film was so much better than anything now available

Gear acquisition vs. focus on technique (if the two are mutually exclusive)

Feelings of resentment about digital vs. "it's another tool" arguments

Can't buy film in such-and-such town

Why don't they make X film available in Y format?

It's not really that controversial but I think everyone here is thinking and talking about what the future of traditional photography will be like.

6) hack Velvia western landscape photographers who make a fortune on the hype and artist statements behind their images

LOL... I love this one. However, it shouldn't be limited to Velvia or western landscape photographers. There are so many "photographers" out there who have SO much to say and SO little good work. But they're all famous and making tons of money with their photography.

Some more commonly occuring themes:

1) Is there any point to making yet another photograph of (insert cliche photo subject here)?

2) How big can I print from a 4X5?

3) Epson flatbed scans vs. drum scans

4) How long do inkjet prints last?

5) Help! I've been scammed on E-Bay!!!

6) How do I make money photographing cliche landscape subjects?

7) WWAD? (What would Ansel do?)

How much money I can possibly waste on gear vs How little money I spent on gear.

Will Kodak want to stay in the photography business vs. It's obvious Kodak dosen't want to stay in the photography business

The acquisition of more gear = better photography vs. Less gear = better photography vs. Using the gear you've got = better photography.

I'd say:

Democrat vs. Republican built wood fields?
Is your carbon footprint bigger than your farts?
Using your tripod for weird fetishes?
Large car with large format?
Kodak sucks and Fuji rules?
Do LF photographers bathe?

Hey! I'm a western landscape photographer! I write snappy artist statements. Why am I not making tons of money? This is unfair. I demand justice.

In the couple years I have been participating in this here forum the only discussion, outside of the lounge, that caused people to come to blows was and is BTZS versus the Zone system. I seem to remember people getting quite nasty over this debate.
