165mm 6.8 Angulon image circle

Does anyone have an idea of the image circle size of a vintage Schneider Aungulon 165mm No. 1190103 in Compur Shutter? I'm considering one for 8x10 and I'd like a bit of rise as I mostly shoot architectural.

According to Schneider's web site (http://www.schneideroptics.com/info/vintage_lens_data/large_format_lenses/angulon/data/6,8-165mm.html) the image circle is 300mm at f/16.

I've owned and used one on 8x10. It will certainly cover, but not by much. The corners looked fine to me without movements, but seemed to get soft pretty quick with some rise.

Like most of the older Schneider lenses, it was originally made for the metric sizes. So it covers 18x24cm with a little movements, and almost 8x10".

But that's specifications. In reality I find that it will cover 8x10" with a little movements, at least at f:32. But again that depends on the age of the actual lens, as I found when I compared a 1939 and a 1954 version or the Angulon 90/6.8 on 13x18cm film...

Sounds like you need a 165mm Super Angulon with a 394mm image circle.

As mentioned by all, the Angulon 165 will not work on 8x10.

You need the Super Angulon to get 8x10 coverage.

Good, now will all of you 8x10 shooters please quit paying high prices for the 165mm Angulon so that I can find a nice one at a bargain price? ;)

It's your own fault -- mention a lens here and three more people will bid on it!

It works in reverse too -- if you want to unload a lens post some good photos taken with it and brag about it abit, then quietly list it for sale a day later.... :)

Well I bought an Agfa-Ansco 10x8 camera with a 12" Grundlach Radar lens for what I felt was a bit over the odds, but there was a 165mm SA thrown in :D

They are quite hard to find second hand, particularly in good condition and at a decnt price, I spent a year looking.
