I just won a series 9 lens shade for my 10" WF Ektar. If I'm reading it right, the seller says that it threads onto the inside of the lens bezel.
I didn't even know there were threads in there! I know there are concentric looking grooves which I 've always assumed were for breaking up reflected light.
I'm wondering if anyone here knew anything about this feature or if perhaps you've used a similar series lens shade on a 10" WF.
I always thought hese lenses require a slip on series holder.
Oh yeah, the lens shade is an Ednalite.
Thanks for any help/advice!

The one I have came with a series 8 retaining ring threaded in the front. I believe it's original to the lens. The answer is yes.

Yes, it's threaded. An extremely lucky find that I got in a lot of other stuff from a photographer's estate was a ser. IX 4" filter holder, and it screws right in. The metal even matches the finish of the lens, which makes me suspect that it was made by Kodak.
