The Toyo 8x10 uses 158mm metal lens boards with rounded corners and a lip that fits into a groove in the standard to form a light seal. Are you considering the 810M field camera, or the 810G monorail?

I have the 810G toyo. wonderful in the studio, not portable unless you are the Terminator.

I am thinking about a view.

The chamonix is about 2.5kg lighter but I'm a bit worry about heavy lenses.

I have the 810G monorail, too, and find it quite portable. As long as one makes a separate trip for each component, that is. ;)

My new Chamonix whole plate supports a 4 pound Vitax without breathing hard. I am very impressed with this camera.
