While not, by any means, indicative of what I can do as a photographer, they at least do show that I'm getting proficient with the camera. They also show that I finally have a scanner I can use. Also, they show that I suck at scanning things. I really hope I can do better with my series of photographs that I'm going to start working on in the next few weeks.

My sweetie. He was patient during this. I fiddled with the camera for at least 10 minutes before I told him to sit still. Crown Graphic, 135mm Optar, f/5.6 or so, but can't remember. Fortepan 400.

To show that, sometimes, experimentation can pay off. The lens is a 105mm f/4.5 Apotar in Compur-Rapid shutter from an old Agfa folder of no designation. The image is of a part of my daughter's toy. I was curious, so I spent about a half hour trying to figure out how to make a lens board for the thing that would fit the Graphic View II. This was taken in normal room light at f/4.5, 1/5 second. Fortepan 400 developed in HC-110, Dilution Brunner (1:50) for 10 minutes at 75 degrees.

Last one. Rinoa, my daughter. This was taken when she was about 4 months old, and again with the Optar. Wide open. I kinda like it. Developed as above.

The light leaks on the last two were my fault, not the cameras. I'd stupidly turned the light on in the bathroom without having the light trap cap thingy on the Combi-Plan tank. I keep them on, now, at all times, so it won't happen again.

So, anyway, that's what I've been messing around with. Forgive the dust, that stupid light leak, and the crappy photos of my family. :)

There are no crappy pictures of family. These are wonderful, light leak or no.

There are no such things as crappy photos of one's own family (except for that one of Aunt Edna with the antlers on the wall growing out of her head.) Looking good!

I have to contain her now. She's almost 6 months old and will crawl about any second now. When she's not on my lap or playing with me on the floor we have her in a play pen thing. Works well. :) I highly doubt she'll sit still long enough for me to take a real portrait of her with the camera anymore, but I won't stop trying. :)

Wonderful pictures of your family. Small children are a challenge, so are small kitties and small dogs. Patience is the name of the game. have a digital camera and i do use it, but I get much more satisfaction out of film. I am hoping to get a 4x5 in the next few months, will give my MF cameras a rest.

Awww, cute baby!!! What's on the sweetie's nose?

It's a scratch. That negative was...interesting. Developed, due to lack of patience, in a plastic 35mm 2 reel tank. Took quite a washing to get it completely clean. I scratched his nose and also a couple spots on his shirt, though you can barely see the one I left in. I didn't even see it until after I'd already saved the thing for web use and just didn't want to mess with trying to get them out. I'll work on them on the print.
