Hello,
I bought a 10 3/4 inch Dagor lens. It's got to be pretty old. Maybe 1940's or so. It came in a Vulmite air release shutter that seems to work. I've been told the lens is tack shape. It's uncoated.
My question is this. The lens is about a 270mm lens for 4x5 and slightly wide angle for 8x10. Which system should I use it for? I could use it for my medium format film but I do alot of color phoography.
All I need to do is build a flange for it and then mount it to my 8x10 or 4x5.
Help. I don't know what to do with the lens?

Unless you're into longer lenses, it's perfect for 8x10.

It's a nice long lens on 4x5, and a great lens for 8x10. Using it on medium format may be problematic... this lens has a large image circle (8x10 mith movements) so you may get flare problems, depending on your setup.

I've used uncoated Dagors with color transparency and a properly adjusted compendium shade, and been very happy with the results. The customer was happy, too.
