I finally found an 8x10 I could afford. An old Cambo/Calumet square monorail. Good price because the front standard was a little messed up. Easy to fix. This and my ShermanTank Majestic tripod came in under a ton, so I took it on a field trip, and found a nice trial shot next to the road near the Great Swamp, NJ. 300mm Schneider Symmar, Foma film, D76 5 min. (purists should read no further -- it's been post processed in PS).

It's like learning this hobby all over again.

Thank you all. I didn't have a loupe (left it at the office like an idiot), so was checking sharpness using 1/2 of a tessar. Most of it is in there but some of the near stuff got missed.

Thanks again

I thought of two quotes: The more the merrier, and, Misery loves company. I think both apply to LF.

Nice picture. Now that you're into 8x10 you'll find that many of your shots will be taken "next to the road" especially as you grow older. Don't fight it (and try to show the rest of us up), just live with it. :-))
Best wishes,
Pete.

Just continue to have fun and hold on to your little boy "yippee" attitude...so when will you acquire another lens?....and so it begins...
