View Full Version : Wide Angle Lens

Good day to all. I have been thoroughly enjoying my jump into the large format realm. The time has come now to start looking for a wider lens. I saw a 90 f/6.3 WA Congo for sale and have been reading up some on it. So far, what I have been reading has been fairly positive. I was wondering if anyone here has used one recently (say w/in the last 18 months) and what their thoughts are on this lens. Thanks for the help.

I had a very late one in all black Copal o that was multi-coated and it was stellar. Might be worth getting a brand new one instead of used as the price difference wasn't huge.

Dan and Ron, thanks for the links. I had read these before but I was really hoping for a street level, personal review from some one in the forum. I'll re-read them and see if I missed anything. Thank you so much for your time and effort.

Both those linked to websites are by people on this forum. If you repost the question with the lens name in the subject you might get more people who've actually used the lens to see the question. Right now with the general subject it's really hit or miss.

IIRC a new Congo isn't much less then a new Nikon [If you can find it] or a new Fuji. But the resale will be lower.

Sorry Nick, I should have been a bit more specific. The lens in question was the 90 f/6.3 WA Congo. I understand that the reviews were made by members here. But I am hoping still that other members had experience as well and are willing to share. The links seem to be the only 2 sources on the web that I could find and that is rather limiting. I am just looking for more info before I pull the trigger to get this lens.
