View Full Version : which lee hood should I take?
dear all,
I want to switch to Lee filter system, but I´m not sure which hood should I take.
I use following glasses:
nikkor 65/4
nikkor 90/4.5
Schneider 150/5.6
Schneider 210/5.6
nikkor 300/9
(tele xenar 360/5.5) only seldom
max. 2 filters & polarizer...
standard-, universal- or wideanglehood?
any recommendations?
thx in advance
hase
ps: maybe somebody is selling Lee stuff?

I am in similar situation , I am getting Nikkor 90mm F-4.5 for myself. Before buying it, I had only one doubt that I might find it hard to find good filter & shade system for it. I believed in collective wisdom of this forum. I have searched many threads yet to find definate solution. Someone with hand on experience can surely tell.

I think you better use w.a. adapter and w.a. hood. 82mm w.a. for 90.
You just missed a complete system sale. :)

I bought a Universal Hood - to be used with Schneider 90/5.6 and 150/5.6, I already had a pretty complete Lee system for my 35mm & medium format cameras. The WA hood is enormous compared to the Universal. Lee are phasing out the standard hood - so I'm told.
I've not yet tried mounting up the standard holder and hood in conjunction to get independent rotation of grads and polariser - but I'm unlikely to use such a combination with my wider glass.
