I have a JOBO Alt-2300 I have been making B&W prints using RC paper with no problems, using Kodak Dektol and TF-4 fixer. Ran out of TF-4, so I tried Kodak Fixer instead. The problem I’m having is the prints have stains and slim on them. When you touch the print you can see your finger print. This leads me to believe it’s a fixer problem. I varied the fixing time from 30 sec. to 4:00 minutes; I also tried a Hypo cleaner and have had no luck. I have tray developed with this combination and have had no problems. But I need the Jobo to do prints over 11x14
Facts: Jobo 2500 series print tube, Temp. 68, pre-wash 30 sec, Dektol 1 minute, Stop bath (water) :30sec, Fixer 2:00 minutes, Wash 1:00 Minute, hypo cleaner :30 seconds, Wash 1:00 minute (I wash 4:00 minutes for final prints)
Any ideas? Have about a week before my TF-4 comes in.
Thanks, Jacob

Slim?

Do you mean "slime" - or is it some cowboy?

You must have a contamination problem there.
I would try to use acetic Acid stop bath instead of water.

What is great about your question is that you included the details.

I liked the mention of getting "slim" on the photos. I was thinking I could use some of that fixer on me.
