Ok, what's the final word. I know that the formats are in fact, different, however, I am wondering if Sinar made a back for both formats, given that the external dimensions of the holders are the same...
Cheers

As far as I know there is only one size made by Sinar, just the inner holder dimensions differ.

When I bought mine it was advertised as 5x7/13x18.

Just to confirm, the back is the same for both formats. It's the filmholders that are "international" sized and standarized for these both formats. If you want to be really fuzzy, you have to measure out and make a mask for 5x7" film, as it's ever so slighly smaller.
The same goes for the european format 18x24cm and 8x10". The back is the same as the filmholders again have the same outer dimensions.
And of course the same also is true about 9x12cm vs. 4x5". Sinar makes for the 4x5" back inserts in yellow transparent plastic that you can insert to get the exact framing. These inserts are also available in many of the common rollfilm formats.
Welcome to the world according to Sinar. There are loads of accessories for whatever problem you may encounter, all of them are very good with lightening the load of your wallet. :)
