Hi all, I would appreciate any suggestions on a good color negative film for landscape photography. I am tired of fighting with velvia. I would like somthing more forgiving and natural looking. I love to shoot with b&w t-max 100 and would love to find a color equivalent.

4x5 quickload or readyload would be a plus.

Fuji Pro 160 or Portra 160 both do a fine job.

Fuji Pro 160S and Portra 160VC are both excellent, and are available in Quickloads and Readyloads, respectively. Also, Portra 400NC has been updated again and the latest version should start shipping soon; it is much improved and makes a very good alternative for situations where you need additional speed. Portra 400NC ships only in standard sheets (no Readyloads).

Take a peek at these links. The first one has a discussion about color negative film that you might find interesting and applicable. The remaining links are more examples of what was talked about in the first link.

fwiw, I'm selling (cheapo) two 50 sheet boxes of 4x5 Portra 160 VC, outdated but still good for $100.00 or $1.00 per sheet.

Thats exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I have a lot of e-6 chemistry to use up so maybe I will pick up some astia along with the pro 160s I purchased today.

Thanks again!

Try some Kodak Porta 160VC. That is while it's still around.

Are there plans to discontinue that as well?
