I was watching that one (just watching), it didn't even appear as an ended item.
Anyway its relisted as item 270224679979.
Any idea of the final amount it reached?

Holy crap!! I've got a mint copy of the 480mm version of this lens. I paid $400 for it a couple years ago. Maybe it's time to cash it in, but it does make beautiful images...

Great Googly-Moogly! No way would I pay that much for a lens, (unless I could afford it...)

I wonder what draws some of us so strongly to these old lenses. Is it the history, the image-making potential, the status (even if only to yourself) of having such a thing on your lensboard? I suppose it's some combination of these things and possibly others...

And the way things are going, perhaps it's not a bad investment financially. Then again, the bubble may someday burst for the old soft lenses...
