I ran across an "F-Theta Ronar" a while back, and had never heard of one. Anybody know if these have any noteworthy utility for a lf photographer?

There was a Ronar from Rodenstock aviable, it's a triplet with an angle of view of 30° and 26° but the focal lenghts are a litte bit short for LF: 1:1.9/10mm and 1:1.9/12.5 mm. This lenses where used in 8mm movie cams.

Those are specialised lenses for scanners.
f-theta refers to certain special distorsion properties designed on purpose for scanners where you have a rotating mirror.
I have no idea of their usefulness to photographers as direct taking lenses.
Probably useless ;)

No connection with the good old ronars and apo ronars which are perfectly useable !

Thanks, Emmanuel! Yep, probably useless to us. But at $50, it had me thinking... I learned it was for some laser scanning use from googling it, but all the info available was pretty specific to that alone. Rotating mirrors and lasers, hmmm... no, my 2d doesn't have those...
