enlarging lenses--comparision--darkroom gear heads

I have a question re: preference of 2 enlarging lenses I posses. I know the ans wer to my question is "test, test, test". However, I would like to know others' reference points or comments.

The first lens is one I purchased originally long ago--a newbie to large format- -it is a Rodenstock Omegaron, 1:4.5 f135mm.

The 2nd lens is one I had readjusted & was given to me--it is as follows--Schnei der Kreuznach componon 1:5.6 150mm #7278571.

the question is which one is the better lens???????a foolish question but one wh ich is valid to me and the answer is test test test---

your comments please.

What is the history of the Schneider lens?????????

Raymond: The Omegaron should be a four element lens and the Componon a six element. I own both lenses and I really can't see much dirrerence at normal printing aperatures. In theory, the six element Componon should give you a little better sharpness in the corners, but I have not noticed much difference if any. I do mostly scenic photography with a little close up and architecture thrown in. Either should give you good results.
