If they're marked 4.75x6.5 then that's the format. 1/2 plate?

Pretty sure that is half plate. Very common in UK but not so much here. Do you have the matching camera? You'd have to cut down 5X7 film.

That's definitely half plate. 5x7 paper and film will probably not fit them. The external diameter is usually the same as 5x7 holders, but the internal dimensions will probably be different.

I had one mixed in a batch of 5x7 holders I bought. Guaranteed: you will not be able to load 5x7 in it and it will be frustratingly difficult to understand why until you turn the lights on.

Looks like it's half plate. I got them at a car boot. and made a camera to fit them using a russian 300mm lens , no shutter just f64.
thanks

The good news is that externally they are the same dimension as 5x7, so you can use your camera to shoot that format if you get 5x7 holders.

If you are in The U.K. Mr. Cad in Croydon sells half plate film and Retro might. Last I heard Mr.Cad had 25/50 & 100asa in stock. I use half plate 'cos I can't get enough 5x7 holders at sensible prices.
Pete.
