Hi, all.

I took my first 4x5 photograph just yesterday with an old Silvestri H + 58mm I bought a week ago. It's new experience. I feel I'm taking real photograph. I liked the slow procedure that gives me time to think. :)

I used to take 35mm photograph on B&W films since 2001 and was recently bored with my own photos. I start LF because I thought LF photography is more thinking than just pressing shutter release from the mere reaction of my eyes seeing. I'm slow and steady, so LF will fit me, hopefully.

I bought Silvestri H, SLV and Arca Swiss F-metric and 7 lenses (all used) all at the same time, with the money I have sold nearly all my 35mm and medium format cameras. But I think I don't regret.

Cheers!
Ernie

Welcome Ernie,

nice to see another Silvestri user here! (The forum has quite a handful btw!)

welcome Ernie, greetings from Mexico.
I also starting doing LF and it's great.
You definitely can't shoot a lot of frames and then edit afterwards (as in 35mm), but the other way around: editing with the camera one single well composed image! cheers

Hi Ernie,

Welcome to the club from Vancouver, BC in Canada.

LF is an entirely different and unique experience from either 35 or MF.

And, with 7 lenses... you'll be developing your leg muscles!! :)

Have fun.

Cheers
