Hi all
Some/most of you know me from APUG but I have been lurking here for quite a while now. Six weeks ago I finally made the plunge into the LF pond when I bought a Sinar Norma 5X7"/13X18cm with a 4X5" reduction back + alot of extras. Although its an old beast, the standard bellows need replacement and 13X18cm looks a bit small already, I really enjoy shooting with it and I'm actually making prints form the negs, cool.
Kind regards
Søren

Yes thats right Darr and now we can talk LF-systems :)
And thank you to all of you for the welcome.
BTW just bought myself a Schneider Symmar S 240mm f/5,6 in a Compur 3 today. Filterthread is bend and the T-function doesn't work properly but its a lot better looking and working than the Symmar I originally was after. Only real drawback compared is weight and bulk, this one is a big beast.
kind regards
Søren

You're only saying that because you haven't got a 360mm f:5.6 Symmar to compare it with. :)

The 240mm Symmar-S is a neat little lens, although it has a bigger shutter than the 240mm Symmar. :)

Youre probably right, I mean you are right I don't have the 360 for comparison :)
But compared to the Symmar it is bigger and though some of the total size is due to the compur 3 shutter the elements themselves are bigger too.
How does the S version differ from the older Symmar optically/picturevise?
Kind regards

The difference between a Symmar and a Symmar-S is, AFAIK, an optical "tweak". That means that if you shoot test diagrems at 20 paces it is possible that a qualified optical technician might be able to tell the difference. ;)

So which test charts are the best? :D
Ok no significant difference.
Thanks Ole. Oh, where you about to sell your 30X40 platecamera?
Kind regards
Søren
