Hello Folks,
My business partner and I have planned or are involved in a few photographic events over next couple months that I think will be of some interest. All the events can be found here www.elevatorworkshops.com.

SNAP! Call for Entries
First off is a call for entries to SNAP! SNAP! is a photography competition and gala held every year in Toronto to raise money to help fight AIDS. Elevator is honoured to be a sponsor in support of this event. There are cash prizes for the best photographs and everyone who enters can be assured that they are doing some good in the fight against HIV/AIDS. More info can be found here http://elevatorworkshops.com/snap.html and here http://www.snap-toronto.com/. The competition begins today and closes on the 28th of January.

This is an oppertunity for all you LFers to strut your stuff.

Tales from the Darkroom with Bob Carnie
In February if you're in the New England area I'll be giving a talk on the state of professional photographic imaging. I'll cover everything from traditional to the latest in digital; including Ilford's new digital Fibre paper. The lectures will be held on consecutive days from Feb 5 through Feb 7 the first in Springfield MA at the Valley Photo Center, the next in Waterford CT at the SE Connecticut Camera Club and last but not least in New Haven CT at the Photo Arts Collective. The lectures are being sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven. A big thank you goes out to Art Liem for organizing this event. If you're a New Englander it would be nice to see you at one of the lectures so I can add a face to the name.

Chinese Turkistan with Ryan Pyle
At the End of February Elevator will be having a Lecture and show by an immensely talented young Corbus photographer Ryan Pyle. Since 2006 Ryan has been documenting the Chinese Turkistan area (Western China). We will be having a 3 day show starting on Thursday February 28th and running through Sunday March 2. On Thursday Ryan will be giving a short lecture and there will be an Artist's Reception where Ryan will be available to discuss his work. This will be a great show; the work he has done so far has been very intense and the work we'll be doing to get it up will be equally intense. Ryan will be flying in a few days prior to the show with a couple hundred rolls of Tri-x. Elevator will have the privilege of souping, proofing, printing and then creating the show in less than a week.

Although the work is not LF it is hardcore and if you're in the area you should stop by.
