I have access to a Canon Image Prograf W8200 printer with its roll photoprint paper and inks. The owner does not have a problems with me using it, but we have a difficult time connecting to coordinate a time to work the printer when it is convenient for both of us. Does anyone have any idea how difficult, or not, this printer is to use with a standard computer which has a gig of ram and photoshop? I have not yet turned the printer on or attempted to connect to my computer. Any heads ups or other suggestions? Thanks. Jon

beyond the fact that the term "standard computer" covers a lot of evils I can't think of a reason why you would have any problems. OTOH, this is not one of the Canon printers designed for photographic output but rather is designed as a wide format plotter. That said it should give good photographic output but not as good as the wide format printers specifically designed for photography. Further, if it doesn't have "pg" after the 8200 it doesn't use pigment inks which are far more archival than dye inks. The W8200 has fewer colors than the current Canon 12 ink wide format photo printers and one head as opposed to the two heads of the photo printers.
