Hello,

can anybody who owns (or knows about) a Caltar-II-N 5.6/180mm or a Sironar-N 5.6/180mm please help me with this:

Having a 58mm filter diameter, I suppose the front cell takes a 60mm push on lens cap, right?
What is the size of the rear element i.e. what size would the push on cap need to be?

Thank you very much.

Aender

The best method is to actually measure your lens, using a vernier or dial caliper. Inexpensive ones are available in the $10-$15 range, and are useful tools in your LF kit.

FWIW, Rodenstock specified a 60mm front cap and 51mm rear cap for the 180 Apo-Sironar-N. So far as I know, there wasn't any change in these dimensions with the transition from Sironar-N to Apo-Sironar-N; I hope Bob Salomon can correct if I'm wrong about that.

Thank you, Ralph. Yes, of course, but I don't have the lens yet.

Thank you too, Oren. My guess was 51mm for the rear element, but I wanted to be sure before ordering any caps.

Cheers

Front is 60mm rear is 51mm. Both Linos and Kaiser make these size caps.
