Have you checked at your local camera stores? Some of them might still stock cable releases.

Any good camera store should have cable releases. Some Wollensak shutters look as if a modern cable release won't work (outside threads) but the ones I have will accept male threaded cables but you have to really shove them up there to engage the female threads. Another issue is press shutters like the Kodak Universals, which prefer "long throw" cable releases to operate reliably---so if you have a Universal I'd suggest you look for a Gepe Professional cable release or other cable release that is billed as a "long throw."

Early on there were several types of cable release attachments besides the tapered connection which is a standard now (and which I don't like very much because of its habit of disconnecting itself). If you have one of these, please describe it and we will probably be able to help.
