Hi Folks;
does anyone have any views on experience with this lens? I've got a B&J 5x7 with a 4x5 reduction back I use a lot of the time.

No experience, but it's an ancestor of Artar, if memory serves.

The relationship with the Artar is that they are both Goerz products and both "dialyte" types. Before lens coating, the dialyte was handicapped by having four individual pieces of glass therefore eight glass to air surfaces. It had, however, good opportunity for color correction and the Dogmar was apt to be found on the "one-shot" color cameras of the '30's. Its relatively large aperture was desirable in working with live subjects.

I've used a damaged 150mm Dogmar (no aperture so wide open, scratched rear element). Pretty good considering!
