Does anyone know the difference between non-N Grandagon and newer N-Versions? Is the optical formula different?

A major difference is multi-coating as well as updated manufacturing and design techniques.

The one I am looking at is 65mm f4.5 and is multi-Coated. Has 67mm filter threads. I think the newer n version has 58mm threads. Do you think the optical formula would be different between the two lenses.

58mm is the correct filter size today. When we were appointed the US distributor for Rodenstock in 1988 it had a 67mm front thread. In 1994 it was listed as a 58mm thread.

Hey-O.

I'm having a hard time finding info on a 115mm grandagon.

Are there trade offs between a Grandagon from the late 70s and one made between 1990-present?

Specifically, does the late 70s still have a decent image circle (for 5x7)? Is the late 70s MC (the one in question doesn't have MC on the barrel)?

I understand that the MC recipe probably changed between then and now but I don't think that bothers me so much since I'm shooting B/W 99% of the time.

Thanks

A 115 Grandagon of any vintage should have ample coverage for 5x7.
