Does a 610mm Apo Nikkor or 600mm Apo Ronar have a larger usable image circle? I'm looking to cover 14x17. A 24" Artar is not part of my question. :)
Thanks.

My Nikon data sheets say that the 610/9 covers 505 mm @ f/22 and infinity.

Neither will cover 14x17.

Both of those lenses cover 45 to 46 degrees (500-520 mm) which would appear to come up short of the 560 mm or so circle required for 14x17. The best bet in the 600 mm focal length would be the Fujinon C (55 degrees; 625 mm circle). The 610 mm Tessar and Goerz Gotar also will cover the format (57 & 56 degrees).

Short answer, yes, assuming you stop down to f/45 or more, which one normally does with 14X17.

I used a 610mm Apo-Nikkor for several years on 12X20, which needs about the same circle of coverage as 14X17, and it covered well, even with a few inches of movement.

600 Fujinon-C will cover more, 550 Schneider XXL Dagor a lot more.
