So I've recently become the proud owner of a 65mm f/5.6 Super Angulon, and I *know* that I'll need a a center filter for it. The Schneider web pages have proved amazingly uninformative about exactly which filter was used for this lens - does anyone here have any information about this?

Thanks!

Steve,

the rationale for Schneider's omission is that the Super Angulon 65mm f5.6 is a not contemporary lens.

Schneider Centre Filter No. III was designed for this lens. This filter is distinct from IIIa or any other suffix after III.

The centre filter requires x6 compensation/1 1/2 stops.

Kind regards,

RJ

- not doing well with mathematics tonight.

x3 = 1 1/2 stop correction.

Sorry for any confusion.

The IIIb works fine on it, though frankly I rarely even bother with it even when shooting tranny...

Thanks, RJ!

I realized this was the issue, but Schneider is so good about providing information for discontinues lenses that I was surprised that they didn't mention which filter to use.

I use the IIIb, it works great. I consider a center filter mandatory for this lens.
