View Full Version : Filters: #15 vs 85B

Hello All:
I don't have a #15 filter currently, but I do have an 85B. I thought I had a filter book with spectral sensitivity, but it seems to be misplaced.

My question is: can I substitute an 85B and get results similar to a #15 orange filter, with B&W film?

Thanks for any help.

That's the 85

That's the 15 [it's a yellow not an orange]

You'll see the 15 almost blocks everything below 500. At least if I'm reading the diagrams right. The 85 is much less aggressive.

Sorry for re-activating this old thread. But the information I get is very valuable.
Thanks sooooooooooooo much Nick_3536.
Hope others find it useful as well.
Hope also, there is a “Thank You“ link below each post and a grading system for those members whom volunteering information and experience to others for nothing.
I’m not among them definitely, but I think there are many of them around deserve(@ least) this kind of appreciation.
Thanks all.
