I just received the Symmar-S 360mm which is missing front lens cap. It is quite large lens, the front element is sort of dinner plate size. The diameter for push-on type cap would be 125 mm whereas for snap-on type it would be 119 mm. I had a look at BH web site but they seem to cary smaller sizes only. Any idea where to get such lens cap?
thanks a lot,
Jan

Kaiser only sells up to 120mm at B&H. For larger SK Grimes can make you a cap for the Symmar-S.

If you can't find one at a store you could always have one made by SK Grimes. They aren't cheap, about $50 IIRC, but very nice.

I bought a 125mm Schneider cap from B&H a few years ago for about $20. However it seems that they no longer carry Schneider caps in that size, so perhaps you can special order one?

Hi !
I think you've to resort to SK-Grimes or Ebay as Schneider does not list any filter above 120 mm diameter :

Too bad.

I forgot !
You may send an Email to Schneider they may have one or two left, and not willing to put them on their E-store. Who knows ?

Suggest you look at the KEH web site and their used large Format section to see if there is one there, if not try Adorama also:

I recently purchased this lens and it is big - 120mm filter size. I will either have to purchase a set of 120mm b&w filters or use gels. I will need a good source for both type of filters.

Any suggestions?

James

Gels, Ebay, don't worry, I won't be bidding against you, I have a lifetime supply now.
I have a 360 Componon that I use with a packard and just go the gel route, far easier and far less traumatic to the wallet.
