Wista 45SP - did I just cause a light leak?

Hi,

I just removed the back of my SP (had to try out what those buttons on top of the camera did), and then happened to touch the soft material in the (light leak protection?) ring at one point. Normally this material would just compress and reshape after, but this seems very old because it stays compressed at that point....now, looking at the camera, it (the "soft ring") does not seem really needed to stop light...or? Will I have to replace the "ring"? If so, where to get it?

I doubt that you damaged anything but, to be sure, photograph something and take a look at the film.

That's the easiest way to be absolutely sure! :)
