Hi all...

Doing a small shoot here today with a monolight/softbox in several formats and wanted to know if you can unplug the sync cord (on the camera side) and plug it into another camera while the strobe is powered up.

I don't have to power down the strobe every time I want to switch cameras, right?

Thanks..!

Nope. Unplugging and plugging might cause the flash to fire though.

be careful with high sync voltage from older studio flashes with modern digital SLR cameras....

Amen to that Mr. Oliver.

Robert is 1000 percent right. I'm assuming you're using large format shutters.

That also goes for film SLRs with lots of electronics. Most of the professional models can handle high voltages, but better safe than sorry. I use a Wein Safe-Sync when I'm in doubt.
